I've been reading a bit about the impending onslaught of the cicada emergence, and was wondering whether this once-every-17 years phenomenon is limited to the northeast, where it is expected to start in the coming weeks, or whether other areas of the country (or the world) will experience a similar phenomenon. They last emerged here in 1996, the year my oldest son was born. It seems so long ago (so much has changed!).
