"Hey guys .. just wanted to thank you for an amazing weekend .. " from Robyn and the crew at Pappy & Harriet's … Cracker and CVB want to thank everyone for making this event special, for the rave reviews, photos, and blogs that poured in during the weeks after our first Campout. Even more thanks to those who have pledged that our event will be an annual tradition for them, as it is for us!

People came for the music, but enjoyed so much more. Re-uniting with friends, meeting community members from Europe and across the world, going to sleep by the high-desert moonlight, and waking to the breathtaking beauty of the Mojave. Camper fans were delighted to see original member Chrispy who made it all the way from Australia. Even first-year snags, like set times slipping, created the climate for spontaneous surprises like Johnny, Frank, and Casey joining the Hickmen at "Porchstock" and the various all-night campfire jams among fans. Friends and family were in full force - David Immergluck appeared with the Monks of Doom, Camper, Cracker, and joined in on so many of his friends' solo sets. The first Campout was the perfect experiment in what Lowery projects are famous for - collaboration, cross-pollination, surprise guests, and music played for music's sake.
